Jean Rowlan
Veleta Jean Rowland, 79, of Paragould died Friday, March 28, 2008, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 20, 1928, in the Coffman Community the daughter of the late Elias Jackson “E.J.” and Rella Mae Taylor Adams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lake Street Baptist Church.
Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lee “Doad” Rowland; one grandson, Timothy Charles Rowland; her parents-in-laws, Arlist and Irene Rowland; brothers: Willie, George, Bud, and Ancil Adams, and James and Edward Craigmiles; sisters, Gladys Adams, Earline Turner, Ada Kennedy, and Viola McDonald.
Surviors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Terry Rowland of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Keith Davis of Paragould; granddaughters and husbands, Cindy and Clay Harrison of Cardwell, Mo., and Amber and J.R. Toombs of Paragould; granddaughters, Haley and Micah Rowland, both of Paragould; grandsons, Sgt. Mark Davis of Fort Bragg, N.C. and Matthew Davis of Paragould; great-grandchildren, Kailee, Timmy, and Jason Rowland, Annalyn and Jennalee Toombs, all of Paragould; one sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Linel Rowland, of Pleasant Hill, Mo.
Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Marc Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-9 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Darrell Birmingham, Robbie Hamlett, Troy Case, Mike Whitby, Elhuran Turner, George Smith.

Homer Mack Price
Homer Mack Price, 74, of Paragould, passed away in the early morning hours of March 28, 2008, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family.
Homer was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Jonesboro, to Fred and Daisy Lee Price. He had a membership at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five older brothers, Darrell, Harold, Leroy, Carrol and Cleo; and by a great-grandson, Charles William Watkins.
Homer wore many hats in his lifetime, including service station attendant and truck driver. He worked at Trice’s Furniture for 20 years, and retired as Fire Captain from the Paragould Fire Department in the early ‘80s. He went on to work for Paragould City Light and Water until early retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and mornings at Terry’s Café. But of all of the hats that he has worn, none fit him as well as “husband”, “daddy” and “papa”.
Homer is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy; two sons, Russell Mack Price and Gary Dale Price; and daughter, Teresa Nan Speaks, all of Jonesboro. He is also survived by two sisters, Mable Reeks and Martha Anderson, both of Paragould; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Tracy Archibald officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Walcott. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.
Fred Barnes, Chadwick Price, Buddy Fletcher, Kevin Lang, Joe Hays, and Denise Goldsmith will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Foster, Frank Edminston, Jimmy Barnes and Alan Barnes.
The family would like to offer special thanks to extended family members and friends that have been so supportive during this time.
