Civil War marker approved for Greene County

The Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission approved an application this week for an Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Historical Marker in Greene County.

The historical marker, to be located at the Old Greene County Courthouse at 300 West Court Street in Paragould, will commemorate the recruiting of the Fifth Arkansas Infantry Regiment. The Greene County Historical and Genealogical Society is sponsoring the marker.
