Two Paragould men face commercial burglary charges after allegedly taking things without paying for them at Wal-Mart.

Joshua J. George, 30, of Paragould, was arrested Sunday after a Wal-Mart employee reported seeing him at a self-checkout line, where he allegedly did not scan all of the groceries he had.

George was escorted to the back of the store, according to an affidavit for arrest, and police officers were contacted.

George had been banned from a Wal-Mart store in February 2017.

According to police, while being interviewed, George waived his rights and gave incriminating statements.

In an unrelated incident on Friday, Luke A. McDaniel, 18, of Paragould, was stopped by Wal-Mart employees after allegedly leaving the store without paying for items that he took.

Paragould police arrived and took McDaniel to the police substation according to an affidavit for arrest.

"During the interview McDaniel acknowledged that he was banned from property and admitted to stealing said property," the affidavit states.

Bond was set for both men at $25,000 each.
