Paragould to host 7th-grade jamboree

Paragould will host a seventh-grade football jamboree on Aug. 27 at Ram Stadium.

In addition to the host Rams, teams from Greene County Tech, Valley View and Pocahontas are also scheduled to participate.

The first game will get under way at 9:30 a.m.

Richey leads Greyhounds to golf win

PIGGOTT — Marmaduke's Luke Richey earned medalist honors as the Greyhounds defeated Hoxie and Piggott in boys' golf Monday.
Richey fired a 47 in the nine-hole match. Austin Hendrix (53) and River Raines (68) also contributed to Marmaduke's 168 team total.

Arkansas Adrenaline competes at World Series

Arkansas Adrenaline, a Paragould-based softball team, finished ninth out of 27 teams in the Fastpitch America Softball Association (FASA) World Series on July 25-30 in Branson, Mo. Adrenaline went 2-1 in pool play, defeating Tenacity and Montgomery Shock in pool play and losing to the Louisiana Outlaws. In bracket play, the team won three of five games. The top finishers were Ball Hogs 03 (an Arkansas team), USA Select 03 and Stars 04. Adrenaline, which received an escort from the Greene County Sheriff's Department as it left Paragould, would like to thank the Sheriff's department for the escort and to thank everyone who supported the girls through fundraisers that helped make this trip possible.
