JHS, GCT gearing up for Border Bowl

Posted: Saturday, August 17, 2013 6:00 am

JONESBORO — When he was a student at Wynne, Jonesboro quarterback Reed Wingo attended the last two Simmons First Bank Border Bowls as a fan in the stands. In three weeks when Jonesboro and Greene County Tech open the season against each other for the fourth straight year, Wingo won't have to buy a ticket — he'll be one of the main attractions at Liberty Bank Stadium on Sept. 6.

"Just to be a part of that, it's real exciting," Wingo said. "A lot of kids don't get to experience that, and we get to go out there as a team and play on a stage we hope we play at ... at the state championship game."
