The Greene County Tech School District board of directors has renewed its license agreement for Microsoft software.

The cost, $16,031.24 plus tax, to be paid to Somerset, N.J.-based SHI, is the same as last year. The renewal is through the TIPS/TAPS Cooperative Agreement

The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS/TAPS) is a commodity purchasing program aimed at meeting the procurement needs of school districts (public and private), universities, colleges, cities, counties, municipalities, emergency services, fire departments (volunteer and paid), or other state agencies.

The board also approved an amendment to an action it undertook at the Nov. 18 board meeting, to lower the amount spent by the Food Service Department for a steamer for the Primary School. As originally approved at the Nov. 18 meeting, the gas steamer was to have cost $61,039.92 (including tax and shipping). However, the change from a gas steamer to an electric steamer reduced the cost to $57,875.67 (including tax and shipping). According to information from superintendent Gene Weeks, the district will only be responsible for $3,585.22 as the remaining $54,290.45 will come from a grant.

The board also approved the following personnel actions:
