City commemorates Child Abuse Prevention Month

Paragould Mayor Josh Agee, detective Lt. Rhonda Thomas and Police Chief Todd Stovall recognize April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The event is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse. April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month in the United States since 1983. Since 2008, the blue pinwheel has served as the national symbol of child abuse prevention. By its very nature, the pinwheel connotes whimsy and childlike notions. In essence, it has come to serve as the physical embodiment of the great childhoods we want for all children.
