Paragould Economic Development Corporation is seeking volunteers to participate in its annual spring community improvement week of April 26 through May 1, 2021.
Everyone in Paragould is encouraged to participate in this year’s community improvement effort. Civic and service organizations, church and youth groups, school groups and clubs, scouts, individuals, families, neighborhoods, and businesses can organize cleanup teams and pitch in.
The major cleanup effort is scheduled for Saturday, May 1. Organizations can also schedule cleanup projects anytime during the week.
On May 1, 2021 volunteers will meet at the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce Office, in the historical Greene County Courthouse at 9 a.m.
Abilities Unlimited will accept soft goods, furniture, appliances, and electronics. There will be a recycling unit manned with volunteers in the Paragould High School parking lot on May 1 from 9 a.m. to noon to accept any recyclables.
The Paragould Police Department will be open for Drug Take-Back from 9 a.m. to noon as well. The City of Paragould, with financial assistance provided by the Greene County Future Fund, will be selling Recycle Bins outside of City Hall for a reduced rate of $7 during the Clean Sweep Hours of 9 a.m. to noon.
The Paragould Economic Development Corporation will assign work to individuals who are not already a part of a group participating with a specific project. All such assignments will be able to be completed by noon, and all participants will be able to finish in time to enjoy a free meal, sponsored by Focus Bank.
