Greene County Tech’s school board has approved a three-year contract to buy a Learning Management System from PowerSchool Group LLC.

According to https://www.thebalancesmb.com, a Learning Management System (LMS) is software that allows an organization to host, deliver, and track employee or customer training. It is typically used for employee onboarding.

According to information made available by district superintendent Gene Weeks, the LMS has a total cost of $79,555 to be paid across the three years of the contract. The district received bids from Instructure with a total cost of $127,968; and from Blackboard for a total cost of $56,367. PowerSchool Group is the only LMS that integrates with Eschool and was selected by a committee of the district’s teachers after demonstrations of all three Learning Management Systems. The cost of the PowerSchool Group software is to be paid out of ESSER II (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) funds.
