A Mississippi County man is facing seven felony charges after Paragould police say he beat a man and robbed him of his vehicle this week.
David Allen Rojas Jr., 23, of Leachville, was arrested Jan. 18 on suspicion of aggravated robbery, theft of a vehicle ($5,000 to $25,000), battery-1st degree, possession of a firearm by certain persons and three counts of terroristic threatening after an investigation by police.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Paragould police went to a local hotel around 12:05 a.m. Jan. 16, after getting a call about a disturbance.
Officers spoke with a victim, who said Rojas pistol-whipped him with a Glock handgun, stole his wallet and the man’s vehicle, the affidavit noted.
The victim, whose name was not released, had injuries to his face. The victim also told police that Rojas threatened to kill him and two other people in the room, if they called the police.
The victim’s vehicle was found Jan. 18 in Leachville. Rojas was arrested soon after and police found a Glock 9-mm handgun in a bedroom where Rojas was.
Rojas was being held without bond in the Greene County jail, awaiting a Jan. 23 court date in the case.
