Brandon Prater, 29, of Delaplaine, faces charges of aggravated assault on a family member or household member, resisting arrest, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree.
Greene County deputies were dispatched to his home in reference to a gunshot victim.
According to Detective Don Crittenden, in the affidavit for arrest, when he arrived on the scene other deputies were placing Prater into the back of a deputy truck handcuffed.
“The man was not cooperative and was screaming obscenities,” the affidavit states.
Also according to the affidavit, Prater’s wife stated that they had an argument and he had pulled out a handgun and threatened to kill himself.
“She told him to put it away because she had kids in the next room,” the affidavit states. “She then went to exit the room and he discharged a single round into the wall. She immediately took the kids and ran down the road from the house to call 911.”
Bond is to be set in open court following a mental health evaluation.
