RockStylez Boutique is organizing a donation drive of personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care providers in the local area.

Items being sought are masks and gloves, and barbers, cosmetologists, massage therapist, tattoo artists, and others are invited to donate such items at the boutique’s location, 210 S. Pruett St., today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We don’t know how long we will be shut down,” said RockStylez owner Jeri Baldwin, “but we do know there are people who will need these items. So we wanted to give them to the people who need them right now.”

Baldwin credited stylist Megan Fisher with the idea to collect the PPE items. “Since our industry will be shut down effective (today) at noon,” Fisher said in a Facebook post, “we won’t be needing them for awhile.”
