According to the Arkansas Department of Health, there was a total of 1,296 COVID-19 positive hospital admissions in the state as of Monday.

The number of hospitalized patients with coronavirus has remained at a record level as Arkansas continues to grapple with a surge in virus cases.

The state has seen a total of 233,475 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases. Of those, 205,462 have recovered.

The latest numbers available Monday afternoon from the department of health showed 4,523 total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Greene County, with 4,146 recoveries, and 325 active cases. There also have been 43 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Greene County and nine probable deaths due to the virus.

Over the past two weeks, there were 1,056 new cases per 100,000 people in Arkansas, according to researchers at Johns Hopkins University. That ranks fifth in the country for new cases per capita, according to Johns Hopkins.

One in every 162 people in Arkansas tested positive for the virus in the past week.
