Arkansas reported 2,944 new COVID-19 cases Friday according to the Arkansas Department of Health.
Statewide there were 1,342 hospitalized with the virus and 27,290 active cases. An additional 40 deaths were reported, which brings the statewide total of deaths due to COVID-19 to 3,966.
“Today’s report has 1,360 fewer cases than this time last week with higher testing,” Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said in a statement released Friday. “This good news is overshadowed by the loss of an additional 40 of our friends and neighbors. We all have a responsibility to our friends and neighbors to help slow the spread, and I hope you’ll join me as we continue to fight this invisible enemy.”
The Arkansas Department of Health reported that the top counties for new COVID-19 cases are Pulaski, 378; Benton, 284; Washington, 266; Sebastian, 145; and Faulkner, 139.
The latest numbers from the Arkansas Department of Health available Friday afternoon on COVID-19 cases in Greene County, showed 4,734 total cumulative cases, with 379 active cases, and 55 deaths.
Nearly 216,000 people have recovered statewide. There have been 4,300 recovered cases in Greene County.
