Each year the University of Arkansas Master Gardener program recognizes businesses and individuals across the state from nominees selected by individual county programs.

This year the Greene County Chapter’s nominees for Friend of Master Gardeners-Business and Friend of Master Gardeners-Individual were among those selected.

Lowe’s of Paragould, represented by Rhonda Bottoms, won the business award and Sue McGowan received individual recognition. Nominations were submitted in 2019.

Although the state conference, where the awards would normally be presented, was canceled because of the current pandemic, Berni Kurz, head of the state Master Gardener program, traveled to Paragould to personally present these awards.

The names and pictures of all the state winners were announced Sept. 28 via Zoom.
