Carletta Hollis Carr of Spring, Texas, passed into the arms of her healing Savior on Dec. 16, at her home with family by her side.

She was born in 1949 in Paragould, to Carlos and Wava Hollis, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Laura Carr of Kerrville, Texas, and son Lynn Carr and wife Presha of Houston; grandchildren, Kaylyn and Keely Carr; brother, Winston Hollis (Peggy) and sister, Cindy Brummett (Richard), both of Paragould; and several nieces and nephews.

Carletta was a graduate of Paragould High School and lived most of her adult life in Texas. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly. In earlier years, she enjoyed going to the lake with her family and attending the many sporting events of her children. She also enjoyed a good mystery, whether book or movie, and most often had it solved before the end. In more recent years, Carletta volunteered as a greeter at her previous residence and enjoyed dancing and attending plays with her dear friend Paul, who preceded her in death.

Carletta battled health issues for many years, but persevered and remained brave throughout it all. Our family was blessed and very thankful for the loving care and ministry of her caregiver and good friend, Amy Silva.

The family will hold a private graveside service in Paragould. Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.
