Russell Eugene “Gene” Rippy, 91, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.

Gene was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Greene County to the late Ben and Nettie Evans Rippy. He was a lifetime farmer and a member of the Marmaduke Church of Christ. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time at Norfork Lake, water skiing, and loved just being outdoors. Gene is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lorenda Rippy; daughter, Elaine Rippy Roberts; granddaughter, Kay Rippy Murray; and six siblings, Charley Parrish Rippy, Merl (Monk) Rippy, Violet Rippy Roberts, Jack Rippy, Bonnie Rippy and James Rippy.

Survivors include his daughter, Nelda Rippy Hicks (J.T.); son Kevin Rippy (Julie); four grandchildren, Tina Linam (Jason), Adam Lewis (Audrey), Andrew Rippy and Ashlynne Rippy; three great-grandchildren, Shelby Linam, Molly Linam and Kamren McCracken; and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be private and under the direction of Heath Funeral Home.
