Imogene Elizabeth Cable, 90, of Paragould, went to be with her Lord on Dec. 6, 2020, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.
She was born Feb. 2, 1930, to Milan Ashby Jr. and Margaret Lee Hart Ashby in Knobel. Imogene was a school custodian at Crowley’s Ridge Academy for 25 years and was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, but most of all, she enjoyed spoiling her grandkids.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Margie Ashby; her loving husband, Virl Martin Cable; brothers, Leonard Ashby, Lee Ashby, JT Ashby, Stanton Ashby and Melvin Ashby; and one sister, Caroline Melton.
She is survived by her sons, Ken (Mary Ann) Cable, Randy Cable, Tony (Donna) Cable and Kevin (Ellen) Cable; her daughter, Bev (Bob) Carey; her sisters, Florence (Ted) Davidson and Cona Faye Ricker; grandchildren, Nicki (Tim) Switzer, Lanae Carey, Barrett (Larissa) Cable, Kara (Mark) Copeland, Brian (Rae Ann) Cable, Alissa (Nick) Arnold, Gerry Cable and Beth (Garison) Money; great-grandchildren, Ayden Switzer, Wyatt Switzer, Lily Hendrick, Madi Cable, Kyle Manweiler, Mason Cable, Emma Grace Copeland, Hadlee Copeland, Savanna Cable, Kayde Cable, Addie Arnold, Oliver Arnold and Eleanor Cable; several in-laws; Oleda Ashby, Flossie Ashby, Ewell Melton, Johnny Pankey, Aretta Hardin, JoAnn Cable, Louise Cable, Mealeta (Quill) Fuchs and Phil (Terry) Cable; and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Imogene Cable would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Barry Hendrix, Pam Ramirez and the staff of Greene Acres Nursing Home for their many years of love and care, and to Judy Freeman, who has done her hair for over 40 years.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 12, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Greene County Memorial Gardens with Michael Meredith officiating. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Brian Cable, Gerry Cable, Garison Money, Alissa Arnold, Beth Cable Money and Nick Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be grandkids and great-grandkids.
Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 50 people will be allowed to gather inside of Mitchell Funeral Home. Social distancing (keeping a 6-foot distance between one another) will be practiced. Face masks are required to enter the building and must be worn at all times.
