Letter to the Editor: Concern for Cotton, et al

Seemingly, like a child awaiting the bounty delivered by Santa on Christmas, Senator Cotton awakens at 3:00-4:00 a.m. in his MAGA ‘jammies, warms and limbers his thumbs, grabs his Smart (oxy-moronish, huh?) phone and eagerly begins the search for overnight “gems of wisdom” promoted by the POTUS. If he is lucky, the POTUS will have delivered a juicy morsel for which he can attach and promote. Never before have we witnessed a more blatant attempt to curry favor from the ultimate seat of power. One would have surmised that a Harvard education would promote the creation of novel ideas or original thought. Maybe not.

With Cotton firmly emplaced, does it remain any wonder that the POTUS’s physician can never complete a full physical? I hypothesize there are more roadblocks to the assurance of the POTUS’s good health outside of Senator Cotton. Others firmly attached, or standing giddily in line, include the likes of McConnell, Graham, Paul, Nunez or “gas mask” Gaetz (collectively, the “sycophant gang”….certainly, there are many more that want to join this dim gang — Hutchinson comes to mind). Obviously, they remain unknowing and clueless that they are placing their “revered leader’s” health in jeopardy by blocking the medical process. We’ll never know the true health of the POTUS unless this “sycophant gang” remove themselves to surface for air!! Maybe that is why the POTUS was moving so gingerly on Saturday at West Point. He was obviously dragging the “gang” behind him on the walkway.

Back to Senator Cotton. The people of Arkansas elected you … not to be a lapdog to power, but to represent and deliver original thought and actions to better America. The blatant and undisguised efforts to latch on to, and promote, “gems of wisdom” (ahem!!) espoused by the POTUS in an effort to “climb the Administration ladder” is unbecoming for a citizen and especially for former military personnel. This unvarnished attempt for a “good boy ether star aka tweet” from the POTUS reminds of the teacher’s pet in school. On a daily basis, the pet brings an apple and is praised by the teacher — but, the pet is loathed by the remainder of the class. This occurs until the teacher receives a bigger, better shiny object from another pet — at which point, the apple-toting pet is tossed into the scrap heap along with all his predecessors. But, hey this hasn’t happened during this POTUS’s time in office, has it? Good luck, Senator Cotton.

P.S.: Also Senator Cotton, might we suggest that the next time the POTUS decides to take a reported Churchillian stroll (OMG, White House Press Secretary, really!!) past the free people he just had beaten, gassed and fired upon to stain the walk of an Episcopal house of worship, you ensure you are carrying his Book of Common Prayer (along with his cape train & crown). Certainly, he has one and knows what it represents. On second thought, that’s asking too much. Last thought: Did anyone check to see if what the POTUS had lofted into the air, on that fateful day, really wasn’t Mein Kampf ? After all, he did earlier retreat to a bunker in the face of “great peril.”
