An open letter to all Trump lovers and the other assorted Gary Exelby's of our community:

Okay, so I know y'all think the sun rises and sets on Trump. Still, I ask you to think about some stuff.

In mid-January the U.S. intelligence community warned President Trump of the potential for massive spread of the Coronavirus in this country. Yet, as recent as four weeks ago the idiot was telling us it was no big deal. That it was well contained here and would just go away when the weather warmed up.

Do you remember when he said it would be "like a miracle"? Surely you do. It was just a few weeks ago.

Then, when Trump finally decided to take things seriously, I saw him on the news telling us he alone was calling this a pandemic, way before anybody else was.

This was just last week! What a liar! But no surprise here. He's been lying to us like that for three-and-a-half years now.

Instead of laying the groundwork for a robust nationwide response to a probable pandemic, Trump did nothing.

Precious time was wasted so that here we are today: As of this writing there are nearly 41,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in this country, with 481 deaths.

We have cases in both Greene and Craighead counties. Our kids' school year is probably shot and peoples' day-to-day lives have been turned upside down. It's still a struggle to find toilet paper and disinfectant products, let alone staple food items like beans & rice.

The other day I noticed a friend of mine was wearing a MAGA hat. I wonder if he still thinks this president is doing a great job.

But maybe there's hope. I did notice that he had it on backwards. Maybe it was for a reason.

Before this is all over he may want to consider turning that hat inside out!
