To The Editor:
Did you know that in 1999 Donald Trump proposed the passage of a "National Wealth Tax" of 14.25% on all individuals with a net-wealth and net-worth of $10 million and higher? If you doubt me, just look it up online.

In 2018, the Opinion Editor of "USA Today" wrote that he loved the idea.
So do I.
But it makes me wonder if we were all "played" and "conned" for the past four years by someone who was a bit of a "Fake Conservative."
That 1999 proposal of his was something that only a very "Liberal/Progressive" would believe in.
With all due respect, my message to my "Conservative" counter-parts is this:
If you had, in 2016, nominated a candidate who is a true Conservative and who has a good character and who is known by many people to be empathetic and compassionate on a personal level — such as Carly Fiorina — she would have won in 2016 and 2020, and you would not be stuck with a Democratic President (who I like) for the next four years.
And our country would not be as terribly split and divided and acting like two warring tribes who view each other as enemies as it is now and will sadly continue to be so for a long, long time.
Sincerely,
Stewart B. Epstein
