Bay clips Marmaduke in 2A-3 contestMARMADUKE — Bay took the lead in the second quarter Tuesday and went on to defeat Marmaduke 45-36 in 2A-3 senior boys’ basketball.

The Yellowjackets (6-9, 2-2 conference) outscored the Greyhounds 16-6 in the second quarter to take a 24-15 halftime lead. Bay led 28-23 at the end of the third quarter.

Jay Jones scored 14 points to lead Bay, followed by Paiton Hartley and Zeke Davis with 10 each. Hunter Tuberville scored 13 points and Andy Agee added 10 for Marmaduke.

Bay (11-4) won the junior boys’ game 46-27 as Evan Stotts and Drew Long scored 15 points each. The Junior Yellowjackets led 27-13 at halftime after outscoring Marmaduke 12-2 in the second quarter.

Ridgefield 67, CRA 31

PARAGOULD — Ridgefield Christian kept its 1A-3 conference record perfect Tuesday with a 67-31 victory over Crowley’s Ridge Academy in senior boys’ basketball.

Garrett Finnicum finished with 29 points to lead the Warriors (11-5, 5-0 conference). Isaiah Ellenburg and Noah Stracener finished with 10 points each.

Ridgefield opened a 19-4 lead in the first quarter. The Warriors led 41-12 at halftime and 58-24 at the end of the third quarter.

Sam Marshall finished with eight points to lead CRA.

CRA won the junior boys’ game 43-21 as Jesse Beliew scored 24 points.

Batesville 62, GCT 58BATESVILLE — Caden Griffin scored 20 points and J.P. Morgan added 19 Tuesday as Batesville edged Greene County Tech 62-58 in overtime in 5A-East conference senior boys’ basketball.

The Pioneers (10-3, 1-1 conference) scored the first five points of overtime and led by as many as seven in the extra period.

Jared Noel scored 14 points, Benji Goodman 13 and Jayke Bolen 10 for GCT (9-3, 1-1). The Eagles trailed 28-19 at halftime and 40-35 after the third quarter. The teams were tied at 49 to end regulation.

Corning 66, Harrisburg 22

CORNING — Corning cruised past Harrisburg 66-22 Tuesday night in 3A-3 conference senior boys’ basketball.

Jayden Wiedeman scored 18 points and Colby Briney added 12 for the Bobcats (7-2, 5-2 conference). Corning led 19-9 after the first quarter, 39-14 at halftime and 52-17 after the third quarter.

Michael Deckelman scored 14 points to lead Harrisburg.

Corning won the junior boys’ game 49-8 to remain unbeaten in conference play as Jayce Couch scored 19 points.

Rivercrest 55, Walnut Ridge 52WALNUT RIDGE — Rivercrest slipped past Walnut Ridge 55-52 Tuesday in 3A-3 conference senior boys’ basketball.

Rodney Thomas scored 18 points and Braylon Diggs added 10 for the Colts. Jayden Hollister scored a game-high 21 points for Walnut Ridge (7-5), with Ty Flippo adding 13 points and Will Coker finishing with 11 for the Bobcats.

Rivercrest won the junior boys’ game 44-41.

Tuckerman hands Hoxie first lossTUCKERMAN — Kenzie Soden scored 25 points to lead four Tuckerman players in double figures Thursday as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Hoxie 71-55 in senior girls’ basketball.

Raigan Head added 21 points for the Lady Bulldogs (15-1). Kenadi Gardner finished with 11 points and Ansley Dawson added 10.

Jaecie Brown scored 22 points to lead Hoxie (10-1).

Tuckerman outscored Hoxie 20-7 in the second quarter to take a 35-17 halftime lead. Hoxie pulled within 47-35 at the end of the third quarter.

Jonesboro 46, Paragould 43

JONESBORO — Jonesboro edged Paragould 46-43 Tuesday in 5A-East conference senior girls’ basketball.

Ereauna Hardaway finished with 14 points and three assists to lead the Lady Hurricane (9-3, 1-1 conference). After trailing 12-8 after the first quarter, Jonesboro came back to lead 22-18 at halftime and 32-26 at the end of the third quarter.

Lakiya Scott added 13 points for Jonesboro, while Destiny Thomas finished with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.

Shakira Brown scored 12 points and Sam Wood added eight for Paragould (8-3, 0-1 conference).

Brookland 47, Highland 18BROOKLAND —Brookland rolled past Highland 47-18 Tuesday to keep its 4A-3 record perfect in senior girls’ basketball.

A.J. Allen and Hannah Boling scored 14 points each to lead the Lady Bearcats (6-4, 4-0 conference), with Allen also adding six steals. Brookland pulled away in the second half after leading 20-8 at intermission.

In junior girls’ basketball, Brookland remained undefeated with a 47-17 victory. Addy Vowell finished with 13 points and Kinsey Clark added 11 for Brookland (11-0, 3-0).

Brookland also won the seventh-grade game 18-5.

Corning 44, Gosnell 27

CORNING — Corning pulled away in the third quarter Tuesday to defeat Gosnell 44-27 in 3A-3 senior girls’ basketball.

The Lady Bobcats outscored the Lady Pirates 9-2 in the third quarter to take a 31-16 lead. Madison Montana finished with 14 points to lead Corning, while Mya Britman finished with 10 points for Gosnell.

Corning won the junior girls’ game 39-5 as Kenlie Watson scored 21 points.

Batesville 72, GCT 25

BATESVILLE — Batesville defeated Greene County Tech 72-25 Tuesday in 5A-East senior girls’ basketball.

Ranked fourth overall and first in Class 5A, the Lady Pioneers (11-0, 2-0 conference) led 24-6 after the first quarter and 44-10 at halftime.
