Riverside 49, Marmaduke 38

LAKE CITY — Four Riverside players scored in double figures Tuesday as the Rebels held off Marmaduke 49-38 in their 2A-3 conference opener in senior boys’ basketball.

Brennen Laird and M.J. Wilkinson scored 12 points each to lead a balanced effort for Riverside (5-4, 1-0 conference). Ethan Boatman added 11 points while Dennis Williams finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Rebels.

Riverside led 17-12 at halftime and 30-25 after the third quarter.

Andy Agee scored 13 points to lead Marmaduke.

Riverside won the seventh-grade game 27-19.

GCT 61, Brookland 37

PARAGOULD — Greene County Tech pulled away in the second quarter Tuesday night on the way to a 61-37 victory over Brookland in senior boys’ basketball.

The Eagles outscored the Bearcats 23-10 in the second quarter to take a 29-14 halftime lead. GCT increased its lead to 53-30 at the end of the third quarter.

Mammoth Spring 86, CRA 34

MAMMOTH SPRING — Aidan Burns scored 25 points and passed for six assists Tuesday as Mammoth Spring ran its winning streak to eight games with an 86-34 victory over Crowley’s Ridge Academy in 1A-3 senior boys’ basketball.

Cole Young added 18 points and eight assists. Logan Doss and Nathaneal Rogers scored 12 points each for the Bears (8-2, 1-0 conference).

Hoxie 60, Marmaduke 54

MARMADUKE — Hoxie held off Marmaduke 60-54 in senior girls’ basketball Tuesday despite finishing the last four minutes of the game with only four players on the court.

The Lady Mustangs (3-0) led 11-7 after the first quarter, 26-23 at halftime and 37-35 after the third quarter.

Jaedyn Brown scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Hoxie, while Jaecie Brown finished with 23 points and six assists. Ellery Gillham added eight points for the Lady Mustangs.

Heidi Robinson scored 21 points and Bean Hoffman added 19 for Marmaduke (5-2).

Marmaduke won the junior girls’ game 49-30.

GCT 46, Brookland 35

PARAGOULD — Emma Bates scored 19 points Tuesday night to lead Greene County Tech to a 46-35 victory over Brookland in senior girls’ basketball.

Kylie Stokes added 16 points for the Lady Eagles. GCT led 29-23 at halftime and 41-32 after the third quarter.

Stella Parker scored 15 points for Brookland.
